We had our first ADDY meeting this past Thursday! We began dividing up the work into various sub-committees and went over the job responsibilities.

We have tentatively about 14 members in the committee that are eager and excited about being part of this great event!

The design sub-committee will be meeting at Joe's Place at 1:00 regarding all graphic design for the ADDYs. Contact Lisa Keppler or Nita Chester if you are interested in attending.

If interested in being a part of the ADDY committee, please contact Jeannette Baer.

Our next meeting will be held at noon on October 12th at Group 5's Conference Room.

LEGISLATIVE
Jane Anderson, Harvey Ward
The PAC has about $10k in collected funds and is looking to raise another $10k by the end of the AdFed year. To that end, Harvey will make an announcement for contributions from our local members at the next general membership luncheon.

Nairn' Gillet, the District PAC Chair, has invited input from local clubs regarding state-level candidates that are friends of our industry, for potential contributions. Email suggestions to Harvey Ward or Jane Anderson.
: : AdFed Goes to Sarasota - Action Packed Conference and Gator Game! : :

The Suncoast Ad Fed hosted the 4th District Conference this past weekend at the beautiful Lido Beach Resort. Although the beach was just a few footsteps away, the Gainesville delegates spent most of their day Saturday and Sunday attending workshops and board meetings. The conference Keynote speaker, Michelle Bauer from Sextant Marketing in Tampa, will be coming to Gainesville in January.

The District offered workshops on public service, membership, programs, diversity, and Quickbooks, just to name a few. Gainesville delegates Suzanne Bachus, Jeannette Baer and Lisa Keppler divided the list and each attended programs that offered additional knowledge to their specific programs. The highlight of the Board meetings was the approval of the 4th District’s annual budget.

Our own James Bozeman, Governor of the 4th District, worked tirelessly all weekend to make sure the packed agenda flowed smoothly and conducted the Board meetings with a sense of humor and purpose. Damion Wasylow, 4th District Addy Chair, proudly wearing Gator orange and blue, conducted two of the ADDY workshops. Connie Amidei, 4th District Internet Co-Chair also conducted a workshop regarding the District’s website.

But it wasn’t all Ad Fed business! Lunch at Tommy Bahama’s, dinner at Hemingway’s, a walking tour of St. Armands’ Circle and a few hours by the pool created a balance between work and play. Many of the Gainesville delegates met at a local sports bar on Saturday evening to cheer on the Gators against Tennessee... what a heart-pounding game!

The action-packed conference was a huge success and the networking that takes place between chapters remains invaluable!

All members are welcome to attend the District Conferences... we hope to see you at the next one in Ocala, December 1st - 3rd!
